Hollywood Publix with Boat Dock Advances

Hollywood is moving forward with plans for an uncommon retail development: a Publix supermarket featuring a boat dock.

The Planning & Development Board of Hollywood approved architectural plans and design modifications for a 30,000-square-foot grocery store located at 3100 South Ocean Drive during their Tuesday meeting. The project still requires approval from the city commission before proceeding.

The approval represents another step closer to landing a rare Publix grocery store in the waterfront location. The proposal includes maritime accessibility through the boat dock feature, distinguishing it from typical supermarket developments.

The project is being managed by Transamerican Development Corp.
